❓1. Is Alvarenga Tours a construction company?

  • No. Alvarenga Tours is not the contractor building your home.

  • We provide independent construction support, project monitoring, documentation, communication, and guidance for clients building in El Salvador.

  • Your contractor and other qualified professionals are responsible for performing the construction and specialized work.

The contractor builds your house. Alvarenga Tours helps look out for you.

❓2. Why do I need Alvarenga Tours if I already have a contractor?

  • Your contractor's primary responsibility is to perform the construction work you hired them to complete.

  • Our role is different.

  • Alvarenga Tours helps you maintain greater visibility into the project through monitoring, documentation, communication, and regular updates—especially when you cannot be physically present in El Salvador.

  • Having a contractor doesn't eliminate the need for information.

  • In fact, knowing what's happening becomes even more important once your money and construction are underway.

❓ 3. Do you work for the contractor or the homeowner?

  • Our services are designed around supporting you, the client.

  • We communicate and coordinate with contractors and other professionals involved in the project, but Alvarenga Tours provides its services to the client who hires us.

  • Our purpose is to help you remain informed, maintain greater visibility, and understand what is happening with your project.

❓ 4. Can you help me before I choose a contractor?

  • Yes.

  • In fact, contacting us before making major commitments can be especially valuable.

  • We can help you evaluate available information about professionals, understand proposals, identify important questions, and determine when additional legal, engineering, architectural, or other professional review may be appropriate.

Verify before you trust. Understand before you commit.

❓ 5. Can you help me if I already have a contractor?

  • Yes.

  • You do not necessarily need to start over simply because you've already selected a contractor.

  • We can discuss where you are in the process, what agreements and proposals are already in place, whether construction has started, and what type of additional support may be appropriate going forward.

❓ 6. Can you guarantee that a contractor won't scam me?

  • No company can responsibly guarantee that another person or business will never act improperly.

  • What Alvarenga Tours can do is help reduce risk through verification, clearer documentation, better communication, greater project visibility, and appropriate professional involvement.

  • Our approach is designed to help clients make decisions with more information and recognize questions or concerns earlier.

    Protection begins with information—not guarantees.

7. How do you monitor my construction project?

  • Depending on your project and service agreement, our construction support may include project visits, photos and videos, progress documentation, communication with the project team, monitoring important milestones, and reporting relevant developments to you.

  • The specific level and frequency of monitoring is established as part of your service agreement.

8. How often will I receive updates?

  • Clients enrolled in our ongoing construction-monitoring service receive weekly project updates, unless a different reporting schedule is established in the service agreement.

  • Updates may include photographs, videos, progress information, important developments, questions, and matters requiring the client's attention.

  • Our goal is simple:

You should know what's happening with the home you're paying to build.

9. Do you inspect the quality of the construction?

  • Alvarenga Tours provides project monitoring and progress observations, but we are not acting as your licensed engineer, architect, or professional construction inspector.

  • When technical evaluation of structural work, electrical systems, engineering, architectural compliance, or other specialized construction matters is required, the appropriate qualified professional should perform that evaluation.

  • When necessary, we can help coordinate with the appropriate professional.

10. What happens if you notice something concerning?

  • If we observe something that appears inconsistent, unclear, or requires additional explanation, our role is to bring the matter to your attention and help obtain clarification from the appropriate person.

  • When the concern requires technical or legal expertise, we may recommend involving the appropriate qualified professional.

Questions are easier to address when they are raised early.

11. Does Alvarenga Tours hold my construction money?

  • Alvarenga Tours does not serve as a bank, escrow company, or financial institution.

  • Payment arrangements for contractors, suppliers, professionals, and other project expenses should be clearly established in the appropriate agreements.

  • We strongly encourage clients to maintain documentation of significant payments related to their construction.

12. Do you approve contractor payments?

  • Alvarenga Tours can provide clients with information and documentation about observed project progress, but the client remains responsible for financial decisions unless a specific written agreement establishes otherwise.

  • When payment depends on technical completion of a construction phase, verification by the appropriate qualified professional may be recommended before funds are released.

FEES

❓ 13. How much does Alvarenga Tours cost?

  • Our fees depend on the size, location, stage, complexity, and level of support required for your project.

  • A client who needs help evaluating a proposal has very different needs from someone who wants ongoing construction monitoring and reporting for an entire home build.

  • That's why we begin with a consultation to understand your project before recommending the appropriate level of service.

Schedule a free consultation and tell us what you're planning to build.

LOCATION

❓14. Do I have to live in the United States?

  • No.

  • Although many of our clients are Salvadorans and other individuals living in the United States, our services are designed for people building in El Salvador while living abroad—or anyone who wants greater visibility and support during their construction project.

❓ 15. What areas of El Salvador do you serve?

  • Project availability depends on the location of the construction and the level of monitoring required.

  • Contact us with the municipality or area where you plan to build, and we'll let you know what level of support is available for your project.

❓ 16. Can you help if my construction is already having problems?

  • Possibly.

  • The earlier we're involved, the more opportunity there may be to establish clearer expectations, documentation, and communication.

  • However, if your construction has already begun—or you're concerned about something that has happened—contact us and explain the situation.

  • We'll help you determine whether our services may be appropriate and whether an attorney, engineer, architect, inspector, or another qualified professional should become involved.

The important thing is not to ignore a concern and hope it disappears. We’ll talk through your situation, where you are in the process, and help you understand your next step.

Still Have Questions? That’s completely normal.

Every construction project is different.

Whether you're still planning, already have land, received a proposal, hired a contractor, or construction has already begun, we'll start by understanding where you are in the process.

Talk to us before your next major construction decision.
